Microsoft announces attendance and sponsorship of Shanghai Ethereum Global Developer Conference DEVCON2

Multinational IT giant Microsoft recently announced that it will attend and sponsor the Ethereum Global Developer Conference DEVCON2. The conference will be held in Shanghai from September 19 to September 21 this year.

George Hallam, External Relations at the Ethereum Foundation, said:

With the support of the Ethereum Foundation, DEVCON2 will showcase the latest research and development achievements of the Ethereum community to the world. This event will be the largest party ever to gather the largest number of Ethereum developers.

Ethereum founder Vitalik Buterin said:

We are honored to have Microsoft sponsor DEVCON2. We are also grateful for Microsoft’s continued support and cooperation with the Ethereum Foundation and the Ethereum network. We look forward to more opportunities for cooperation with Microsoft in the future.

DEVCON2 brings together Ethereum industry representatives, developers and community members from all over the world. Microsoft will provide its cloud-based device "Blockchain as a Service" (Baas) for DEVCON2. Marley Gray, director of Microsoft's blockchain and distributed ledger business development department, said:

The first DEVCON conference (DEVCON1) was held in London last year. Microsoft has sponsored the Ethereum conference since last year. At that time, the price of Ethereum was only $0.7-$1/ETH, but now the price of a single Ethereum has exceeded $19.
