Ethereum co-founder Anthony: The Ethereum community should stay away from DAO

Since the advent of Bitcoin, the development of cryptocurrency technology has been destined to be a long and tortuous road. The Ethereum protocol can be said to be the most developed one among them, but it is not at the top of cryptocurrency technology because there is still great potential for its development.

The Ethereum Foundation plays a vital role in the development of the Ethereum platform. However, recently the core development team of the Ethereum community, including Vitalik Buterin himself, seems to have missed the point.

The DAO, built on the Ethereum protocol, created a decentralized democratic organization on the blockchain. Its members received DAO tokens through investment and had the right to vote on internal decisions. The DAO was established not long ago, and all the funds raised during the crowdsale went to the Ethereum Foundation.

Since the DAO crowdsale was a huge success, the Ethereum Foundation has been focusing on developing the platform while neglecting its core Ethereum protocol, which can be clearly seen from the recent attacks on the DAO. Whether this shift in focus is a good thing or a bad thing, Ethereum co-founder Anthony Di Iorio does not want to take this risk. In a recent tweet, he called on the entire Ethereum community, including Vitalik Buterin himself, to stay away from third-party dapps, contracts, and companies. He believes that the community should focus on the Ethereum protocol, including popularizing and promoting the Ethereum protocol so that more people can understand it.

Anthony's concerns are not groundless, and many people feel the same way. Some netizens said in his tweet that not everyone is satisfied with the recent style of the Ethereum Foundation. Even Anthony himself believes that the Ethereum Foundation should not add the names of third-party companies such as Slock.it on its official website. He suggested that the Ethereum Foundation keep a distance from third parties. DAO is one example. DAO is a failed product launched by the Ethereum Foundation, and this incident is undoubtedly a slap in the face.

Whether the Ethereum Foundation will "wake up" or "go down the same path" remains to be seen.
