Gibraltar Exchange adds new Bitcoin investment product

A private exchange in Gibraltar, Europe, has added Bitcoin as an exchange-traded instrument.

The new product listed on the Gibraltar Stock Exchange is called BitcoinETI and is issued by local company iStructure PCC PLC. Other companies involved in the issuance include local Argentarius ETI Management Limited and Revoltura Limited. The exchange said it is the first product of its kind to be allowed to be listed in Europe.

It is reported that the German Stock Exchange (Deutsche B?rse) has also launched this investment product, but it has not been confirmed by the exchange.

Local regulators also support BitcoinETI, and more digital currency investment products are planned, according to the company backing the product.

“We have been working with the private sector and regulators to provide the right regulatory environment for operators in the digital currency space. The listing of BitcoinETI on the exchange demonstrates our ability to innovate and move quickly with the market.”

The exchange, which was founded in 2014, announced a few months ago that it would allow the listing of exchange-traded instruments (ETIs).
