Is the Bitcoin Civil War Over? Charlie Lee's Revelations Raise Suspicion

Charlie Lee, Director of Engineering at Coinbase, broke the news on Twitter: The Bitcoin civil war is over! Prices will rise! @Brian Armstrong (Coinbase CEO) @Excellion (BTCC COO).

Interestingly, Brian Armstrong, CEO of Coinbase and a scaling advocate, also retweeted the tweet and commented: I agree with this news.

This news has attracted a lot of speculation. Considering the closed-door meeting in Silicon Valley that just ended, has the debate over Bitcoin expansion come to a conclusion?

It is reported that those who participated in this closed-door meeting in Silicon Valley were representatives of the mining community and developers of the Bitcoin Core project, including Bitmain CEO Jihan Wu.

Previously, Wu Jihan had publicly stated that if the Bitcoin Core development team does not release a version of the software containing the hard fork expansion code, AntPool will not run the isolated verification code.

This means that if Mr. Wu’s attitude has not changed, the Bitcoin Core side may have compromised at this meeting.

As of now, the summary of the meeting has not been released.

Community Comments

Such touching news soon attracted a lot of comments.

r/Bitcoin community member Sizematters96 commented: This really gives me hope!

hunter1212: lol, is it really over? Secret meetings, unresolved block size issues, more transaction fees, slower and slower transaction times?

TDxths, a user on the Babbitt forum, commented: This is Ethereum’s credit. If there hadn’t been the Ethereum hard fork, there would still be room for debate.

BTC Feng Jiling, the moderator of Babbitt Forum, said: Shaking hands and reaching a consensus is the best. But why did he say this? Haha.

However, Brian Armstrong quickly responded on Twitter:

For those wondering, there is nothing to report. We were just attending a big Bitcoin potluck and thought it would be fun.

We have buried the hatchet.

What do you think?
