ETC supporters take action to protect the ETC blockchain

Now, backers of the Ethereum Classic platform are taking action after a July hard fork of the Ethereum network not only kept the original blockchain alive but also spawned a competing decentralized application platform.

Ethereum Classic (ETC) backers held their first official meeting in London this week, with some ETC backers seeing the event as a starting point for the nascent community.

Overall, the meeting hopes to reach a preliminary consensus on the project goals and analyze the financial and legal impacts of hard fork networks. Speakers include Simon Taylor, director of blockchain research at 11:FS; and Nishant Bhaskar, general manager of Lloyds Banking Group.

The event was kicked off by a speech by the group's leader, Arvicco, who found supporters did not want to support a system that "has always been abusive".

He said in a statement:

“Only those communities that clearly define their values ​​and persevere through thick and thin can succeed in a world of free cooperation.”

A slide presentation at the event showed the development process map the team had developed for the project.

This includes migrating ETH users to ETC, supporting the launch of new network tools, and exploring how developers can create a consensus architecture that is separate from ethereum’s planned proof-of-stake system.

The highlight of the conference was the guest appearance of Bitcoin investor and Ethereum miner Chandler Guo, who became famous for threatening ETC with his mining power a month ago. In a statement, he said that he now supports ETC 100%.

"I made mistakes before."

He then called on Chinese ethereum supporters to support ETC.
