Two IT developers from the Slovak company DECENT are on the front line proposing and implementing solutions in the field of digital content publishing. DECENT's ICO, which began at 1pm GMT on September 11, provides investors with access to publicly issued digital tokens (DCT). Those seeking to participate without paying a membership fee can create an account and join the ICO. Participants can use Bitcoin or other cryptocurrencies of their choice to crowdfund, as detailed in the ICO Guide. Digital Revolution DECENT has been born, so to speak, with the ambition to start a revolution in the way we share information and ideas on the internet. Harnessing the power of blockchain technology to remove third parties from publishing, thereby making publishing independent, micropayments for direct transactions between content publishers and consumers, and a solid voting and reputation system - the DECENT platform claims to be aiming to integrate at the forefront of the global movement in decentralized content publishing. Blockchain Vision Last year, two old friends from Slovakia, Matej Michalko and Matej Boda, founded a startup team. The DECENT project originated from the common vision that blockchain technology will make global digital content publishing and sharing unified and standardized. As for background, Michalko’s interest in online privacy was sparked when he completed a project for Nokia Research Center on protecting the privacy of mobile phone users while studying computer science at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (a city in western Switzerland). Since then, he has focused more on Bitcoin. Speaking of Boda, he worked as a technical concept developer at BMW Munich while studying at the Technical University of Bratislava. Although his background is in applied mechanics, he began to focus on blockchain-based science and technology in 2013. Fascinated by decentralized protocols, he supports the community by helping to organize the Central European Bitcoin Expo in Vienna, the 2nd Bitcoin Business Congress in Brussels, proposing ideas for mining technology and envisioning the future of blockchain. DECENT startup has attracted a prominent team of developers, representatives and business advisors. Slovak law on software sales allows public support and investment in revolutionary projects for decentralized content publishing. It is worth noting that Slovak law is similar to most European countries. The DECENT project itself is a non-profit organization in Slovakia, and all funds raised during the ICO will be considered grants. mission DECENT aims to solve the current content distribution method around the world by applying the principles of decentralization to the communication process in today's society. DECENT aims to bridge the gap between industries by bridging the gap in the blockchain ecosystem. It aims to allow simplified, independent and borderless content distribution. With strong cryptography, it can be used to keep data and information confidential and prevent any third party from reading it, thus ensuring a high level of trust and security through such a process. Cryptography is a specific way of storing and transmitting data, and ensuring that only the recipient can read and process the data. Simply put, the data is encrypted during transmission and can only be decrypted using a key. Born for content creators An open source protocol that allows app developers to create a wide variety of apps with design specifications and the functionality that best fits the bill, DECENT provides a base for content creators and businesses alike to shape creative solutions for their publishing strategies. With creative freedom and customization, the DECENT platform will further have a variety of possible application cases and many public services. These use cases include: blogging and publishing (versus media); cloud audio music publishing; e-book publishing as an alternative to Amazon; software publishing and sales; photo sharing (e.g. sites like Shutterstock); e-newspaper publishing; cost-effective academic paper publishing; video and audio; independent game development; and P2P energy exchange. The latter covers power plant due diligence and smart meter data management. Currently, authors publish books on Amazon and hand over 30%-75% of the profits to the platform. Similarly, a musician who sells their music on iTunes pays about 30% of the sales to Apple. For authors or artists, when they sign an agreement with a publisher, they may only get a small portion of the total sales of their works. DECENT, the company that provides the promise of an alternative model - by removing the third party and intermediary fees and leaving the profits directly to the content publishers, this greatly simplifies the entire process and technical issues. The prototype of the startup platform began in 2016 and is scheduled to be completed in the first or second quarter of 2017. Conference and Media Partners DECENT has attracted public attention through a series of technology-oriented conferences, such as the Inside Bitcoin Conference in Chicago in 2015, the Digital Currency Conference in San Francisco, the Internet Conference in Dublin in 2015, the Blockchain Conference in Helsinki in 2016, and other forums. In addition, official media partners are being formed, including NewsBTC, CryptoCurrency Magazine, Bitcoin News, Blockchain News, ICO Countdown, Forklog, and one of the largest blockchain information portals, 8btc, expanding its exposure in the Chinese market. Platform benefits There are several good reasons to use the platform, and the founders tout the beneficial prospects for citizens like China, but the Chinese government still suppresses free speech, and online behavior is still influenced by economic, political or publishing reasons. Other partnerships include the formation of Freewallet, an easy-to-use mobile wallet that allows potential users to get familiar with popular cryptocurrencies without delving into specific technical features, and BitRush, a Toronto-based fintech company that is constantly looking for partners interested in integrating blockchain technology into their existing services or developing new decentralized applications and platforms. By integrating DECENT into existing platforms, partners can provide a high level of trust and security through a reliable content distribution system. While ensuring the features they desire, the content streaming and payment process is also based on a blockchain-driven content distribution platform, which aims to ensure the stability, independence of the service, and timestamps of data records. It is planned that multiple applications will be released on top of the protocol so that the initial infrastructure can be built. The protocol implementation and support for app developers will benefit the DECENT network. Of course, in the development plan, the roadmap is a detailed description of the future network operation, and the development process and hardware solution planning will include smart TVs running on the DECENT network. Raising investment To raise funds for continued development, DECENT is running a crowdsale (software sale) which started on September 11th, and tokens can be purchased online. To encourage investors, there will be a 50% discount on the price of buying tokens, however, the promotion will only last for one day. The bonus (discount) is especially provided to the first 10 million DCT (DECENT) buyers. Partners – Exchanges. We have another partner with Ronny Boesing, the former Danish crypto exchange CCDEK, as CEO and founder. CCEDK recently changed their value proposition to focus on "bootstrapping startups" as Dane puts it. Some of their previous services will be eliminated during the DECENT software sale and beyond. “CCDEK will be available for early purchase and immediate free trading on OpenLedger,” Boesing explained in a phone interview. However, in an agreement with DECENT project leaders, there will be no early ICO launch. Instead, CCDEK and Openledger will provide some of the services that ICO OpenLedger (ICOO) calls the “Economic Enterprise Engine”, such as media packages and social platform networks. So once the ICO is over and announced, the currency will be fully integrated and traded on the Openledger platform. ICO OpenLedger (ICOO) will also hold shares in the Danish exchange as a marketing partner. Therefore all ICOO shareholders will also have a direct investment in DECENT when it launches. Marian Hvizdos, Chairman of the Board of the Bratislava-based Startup Technology Foundation, which provides startups with equity or debt financing, recently commented, “When I looked closely at the future features of the DECENT network, I realized that this project has real potential to become a widely used content distribution system in the future.” “Its innovative blockchain approach offers a glimpse into the future for people and organizations struggling with obstacles every day,” said Hvizdos, who previously served as general director of Vodohospodárska v?stavba ?.p., CEO of EXIMBANKA SR, and economic director of Istrochem, as. If nothing else, I am sure we are living in exciting times. This is a fantastic investment proposition that will yield fantastic returns. So, why not join this digital revolution. |
