Bitpoint to Partner with Evolable Asia to Provide Bitcoin Payments to 1,400 Hotels and Inns in Japan

Golden Finance News - Bitcoin exchange Bitpoint will cooperate with Japan's largest online travel agency Evolable Asia to provide Bitcoin payment and exchange services for more than 1,400 hotels and inns in Japan this summer.

Bitpoint, a subsidiary of publicly traded conglomerate Remixpoint, announced a partnership with Peach Aviation last month and said Japan expects more than 100,000 stores to accept bitcoin payments.

Last week, it made good on some of its promises and confirmed that more than 1,400 accommodation facilities in Japan will soon begin accepting Bitcoin. This was achieved through a partnership with Evolable Asia, a leading online travel agency in Japan.

"We aim to allow customers to accept bitcoin payments at 1,400 contract facilities in Japan, including hotels and inns, Airtrip Exchange stores and Renewable Asia Group. The service will start this summer," Bitpoint said.

According to the company, Bitcoin can be exchanged for Japanese yen, and the accommodation fees of customers at each participating accommodation facility can be paid with Bitcoin.

Evolable Asia is responsible for online ticket sales on many websites.

“If you’ve ever wanted to book a flight or holiday package to Japan, you can do so through the Evolable Asia platform, in case you didn’t know it,”

It goes on to write that in addition to its own online travel portal, there are more than 600 domestic travel websites that use its in-house technology to provide search services for their own flights, hotels and travel packages, which the publication will detail.

Evolable Asia is Japan's largest online travel agency (OTA) and the only one that has signed agreements with all domestic airlines.

With headquarters in Tokyo and Ho Chi Minh City and four offshore offices across Vietnam, Evolable Asia became a listed company on the Tokyo Stock Exchange on March 31, 2016, and opened its headquarters in Silicon Valley early last year.

The exchange service aims to meet the needs of foreign tourists, especially during periods when banks are closed. Subsequently, through cooperation with Vision Inc, a leading domestic teleservices company in Japan, Airtrip Exchange opened two booths in April, the sixth exchange to go public on June 1. The exchange currently handles 12 major currencies, and Evolable Asia announced that it will soon add Bitcoin to the exchange.
