"China's Blockchain and Internet of Things Integration and Innovation Application Blue Book" will be released soon

In order to respond to the call of the National Informatization Plan for the 13th Five-Year Plan, strengthen the understanding of the application of blockchain in the field of Internet of Things, and enhance the ability of domestic Internet of Things to apply blockchain technology. In July 2017 , experts from China Electronics Standardization Institute, Wuxi Economic and Information Commission of Jiangsu Province , Wuxi Software Industry Association Blockchain Professional Committee, Six Domain Blockchain Joint Laboratory and other units and organizations completed the draft of the "Blue Book on the Integration and Innovation of China's Blockchain and Internet of Things" (hereinafter referred to as the Blue Book) in Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province , and it is expected to be released at the World Internet of Things Expo in September 2017 .

From the concept of the Internet of Things proposed in 2009 to its rise to a national strategic emerging industry, after 7-8 years of development, the value and significance of the Internet of Things to various fields of society have been generally recognized. Due to the complexity of the integration of the Internet of Things with the industry, the cost of applying the Internet of Things is high, and security and privacy issues are prominent. Blockchain is a mode of implementing and managing transaction processing by building an anti-counterfeiting, anti-tampering and traceable block chain data structure through transparent and trusted rules in a peer-to-peer network environment. The technical characteristics of blockchain enable it to effectively solve the problems of big data management, trust, security and privacy faced in the development of the Internet of Things, and promote the development of the Internet of Things to a distributed, intelligent and advanced form.

The Blue Book is based on the national standard GB/T 33474-2016 "Internet of Things Reference Architecture" in the field of Internet of Things and the group standard "Blockchain Reference Architecture" issued by the China Blockchain Technology and Industry Development Forum, integrating the blockchain functional architecture and the six-domain model of the Internet of Things to establish a blockchain and Internet of Things integration framework (as shown below). The integration framework can promote the use of blockchain technology to open up the data channels of the horizontal industrial chain of the Internet of Things and the vertical Internet of Things devices, strengthen the consensus of the Internet of Things ecology, and promote the use of data in the entire Internet of Things ecology.

The Blue Paper deeply analyzes the challenges faced by the Internet of Things and the technical characteristics of blockchain, and for the first time proposes a framework for the integration of blockchain and the Internet of Things. It also deeply analyzes the pain points and solutions of industries such as environmental protection, medical care, intelligent manufacturing, supply chain, agriculture, and energy. At the same time, based on the domestic policy environment and the overall situation of the industry, it proposes an industrialization idea for the integrated development of blockchain and the Internet of Things, and actively explores new models and new formats for the application of blockchain technology in the field of the Internet of Things through policy guidance, standard leadership, and industrial integration.

Further reading: Wuxi has good development conditions for the integration of blockchain and the Internet of Things. With the National Sensor Network Innovation Demonstration Zone as the core, Wuxi has become an important force in the development of the Internet of Things industry in Jiangsu Province and even in China . The blockchain industry has also started to develop rapidly in Wuxi in the past few years. In the 2017 work implementation plan formulated in accordance with the "Three-Year ( 2017-2019 ) Action Plan for Wuxi to Accelerate the Development of a New Generation of Information Technology Industry Led by the Internet of Things " issued by the Wuxi Municipal Government , it is clearly proposed to promote the application of blockchain technology in the new generation of information technology industries such as the Internet of Things.
