Bitcoin hits a new high of $6,300, and business leaders are no longer calm

On October 30, Beijing time, the price of Bitcoin rose to a high of US$6,306.58 today, setting a new record high again.

A week ago, Bitcoin broke through the $6,000 mark for the first time. After briefly reaching a high of $6,183, it fell back to around $5,500.

The price of Bitcoin has increased by more than 500% so far this year. At the beginning of the year, its price was just over $1,000.

As of press time, the price of Bitcoin has fallen, with the average price on major exchanges around the world being around $6,166.

According to analysts, the price increase may be related to the recent surge in exposure of Bitcoin, which has been discussed by business leaders and celebrities almost every day.

For example, including "Oracle of Omaha" Buffett, Saudi Prince Walid bin Talal Al Saud and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel have all recently expressed their views on Bitcoin. The first two expressed pessimism about Bitcoin, and only Peter Thiel believed that Bitcoin's potential was greatly underestimated.

According to Google Trends data, searches for the keywords “bitcoin” and “bitcoin price” are near all-time highs, which means the exposure could translate into new awareness and investment in the Bitcoin protocol, which has a market value of more than $100 billion, according to CoinMarketCap.

“We are seeing a steady increase in confidence in Bitcoin,” Joseph Lee, a trader at a cryptocurrency derivatives exchange, told CoinDesk. “This is undoubtedly very positive for Bitcoin adoption.”
