Ron Paul wants to know: If someone offered you something worth $10,000, would you choose Bitcoin, cash, or something else? The former U.S. congressman from Texas recently conducted a poll on his Twitter, which asked if a rich man was willing to give you something worth $10,000, which way would you choose to accept it? The additional condition is: you can't use it within 10 years. Earlier this year, Paul called on the US government to stay out of Bitcoin affairs. Now, he asked this intriguing question to his 650,000 followers. So far, more than 70,000 people have participated in the survey, of which 54% chose to support Bitcoin. In contrast, gold took the second place with 36%, 10-year bonds with only 8%, and only 2% said they would hold U.S. dollars.
In October this year, Paul admitted that he was not an expert on cryptocurrencies, and as early as 2014, he believed that Bitcoin was not real money. Paul reportedly expressed his support for cryptocurrency in a recent media interview, saying he believes there will be a cryptocurrency that will replace the US dollar. As of press time, the price of Bitcoin has reached $14,500, setting a new record high. |
