Mining is difficult and people cannot afford to buy ready-made Bitcoins, so some people started to think of stealing Bitcoins, but the result was tragic. Recently, Beijing Haidian police (not Chaoyang police) cracked a case of sabotaging computer information systems. It turned out that on September 25 last year, the suspect Zhong used his administrator privileges to steal 100 bitcoins from the company, worth millions of yuan (if the theft occurred at the end of the year, the value would be higher). According to the police, after stealing the bitcoins, the suspect wanted to sell them on a foreign website. However, as he did not know which website could do so, he searched online and found a "bitcoin wallet" application and deposited the 100 stolen bitcoins into it. He also heard that there was a core wallet that could clear all traces of the theft, so he moved another 10 bitcoins into the wallet. Later, the suspect Zhong returned the remaining 90 bitcoins to the company, but the 10 bitcoins deposited in the core wallet could not be recovered. Currently, Zhong has been detained on suspicion of sabotaging computer information systems, and the case is under further trial. All in all, it is a tragic story. (Editor: HN666) |
