New Bitcoin Mine Function: Raising Fish and Growing Vegetables Using Waste Heat

For digital currencies such as Bitcoin, speculation and hype have been topics that have never stopped since the birth of these digital currencies. However, now, a more realistic and urgent question is how much electricity is needed to "mine" these digital currencies?

According to some experts' estimates, the electricity consumed by global Bitcoin mines currently exceeds the total electricity consumption of the world's 159 countries with the lowest electricity consumption, which is equivalent to the electricity consumption of the entire country of Denmark.

Obviously, electricity consumption is a big problem for Bitcoin "miners". The good news is that many countries in the world have set up "mining farms" to use low electricity prices to attract Bitcoin mines.

Hardy is president of Canada's Myera Group, which develops technology for sustainable food production systems.

At the same time, Hardy also owns a Bitcoin mine: in a 20,000-foot room, there are more than thirty Bitcoin mining machines working for Hardy. The mine is located in Manitoba, Canada, which has cheap hydropower resources.

Originally, Hardy had to pay for air conditioning and cooling at the mine, but now, Hardy's Bitcoin mine recycles the waste heat generated by Bitcoin mining machines. The mine uses the waste heat generated by Bitcoin mining to grow vegetables and raise fish. The varieties include lettuce, sockeye salmon, etc.

Hardy's Bitcoin mine generates a steady supply of heat to keep the temperature of the growing environment for these vegetables and fish constant. At the same time, the feces produced by the fish are used to grow lettuce. This is a healthy ecological cycle system.

Hardy said that we are taking advantage of the cheap electricity here to create new industries while "mining" Bitcoin, which can help develop the local economy.
