Be careful, your browser may be mining for others to “earn coins”!

Last night, a good friend of the editor called to ask about it, saying that the top-of-the-line computer he bought at the beginning of the year for more than 10,000 yuan encountered an extremely strange phenomenon. When he watched the anchor's "Player PUBG" on the live broadcast website, it was much more laggy than playing it himself.

After checking the status of his computer with remote assistance, the editor easily found the culprit for the lag, which was that his browser was implanted with a mining Trojan by hackers. This mining Trojan will occupy a large amount of computer CPU resources, not only causing the computer to lag, but also causing problems such as increased power consumption and faster hardware life consumption.

Compared with the mining Trojans that have long been known to everyone, web mining is still a relatively new method. In September 2017, the well-known pirated resource publishing site Pirate Bay was found to contain mining scripts on its webpage, and this behavior was officially exposed. Initially, this mining method was easier to prevent because it occupied a huge amount of system resources and closing the webpage could terminate the mining process. However, with the continuous upgrading of mining scripts and the rise of web mining scripts, many websites began to use technical methods to cover up the large amount of system resource consumption generated by mining.

On April 2, Google announced that in order to protect browser performance and user devices, its Chrome browser plug-in store will completely remove cryptocurrency "mining" plug-ins, and plug-ins containing this function will be cleared by the end of June this year. For a long time before that, the Chrome store allowed developers to release such plug-ins on the premise of explaining the purpose of the plug-in to users, but more than 90% of mining plug-ins did not comply with this clause.

In fact, compared to Google, which was slow to react, 360 Safe Browser not only clearly banned plug-ins containing mining scripts a long time ago, but also launched a special "mining protection" function at the beginning of this year, becoming the first browser in China to incorporate anti-mining functions.

When users browse websites through 360 Safe Browser, the computer will be in a state of automatically detecting and blocking mining malicious code. Once 360 Safe Browser detects that the user's computer is at risk of being "mined", it will block the website's mining behavior.

Compared with foreign users, the complex software market environment and large number of Internet sites in China have made it much more difficult to prevent mining scripts. In addition, the surge in the price of electronic currency last year attracted criminals to pursue profits, and the probability of domestic users' browsers being infected with Trojans and becoming "zombies" is also higher. Using 360 Safe Browser can block mining scripts contained in web pages without affecting users' normal browsing behavior, avoiding a series of problems caused by script mining, such as freezing, hardware loss, and increased electricity costs.

Of course, in addition to protecting users from being "miners", 360 Safe Browser also has many other protection features. Through the country's leading malicious URL library and the use of a cloud detection engine, it can automatically block malicious URLs such as Trojans, frauds, and online banking impersonations, protecting users' computer information and property safety.

In addition, 360 Safe Browser also has an original "isolation mode", which allows users to avoid infection when visiting Trojan websites and browse without incognito, which can protect users' online privacy to the greatest extent. It not only isolates various malicious intrusions, but also maximizes the protection of user privacy from being leaked.
