The hard fork upgrade is getting closer, what is the BCH community doing?

It has been more than half a month since the Bitcoin Cash development team announced that Bitcoin Cash would undergo a hard fork on May 15. During this period, the Bitcoin Cash community has been in the joy of the upcoming hard fork and has made full preparations for the hard fork to ensure that it can proceed smoothly.

With the strong promotion of the Bitcoin Cash community, everyone should have a certain understanding of the upcoming hard fork. First of all, the fork time: around 12:00 UTC on May 15, 2018, and secondly, the main changes this time: increasing the Bitcoin Cash block size to 32MB, reactivating and adding some OP-Codes, and increasing the OP_RETURN data carrier size to 220 bytes. First of all, the Bitcoin Cash development team. Technology is the core of encrypted digital currency, and an efficient development team will bring more good experience. The Bitcoin ABC team took the lead in releasing the new version 0.17.0, and the Bitcoin Unlimited team followed closely and released the latest version 1.3.0.0. The second is the node operators. According to the node data of Bitcoin Cash, Bitcoin Cash has a total of 1,762 nodes, distributed in 42 countries, of which 1,102 nodes run Bitcoin ABC code, accounting for 62.8% of the total nodes, and 617 nodes run Bitcoin Unlimited code, accounting for 35.1% of the total nodes. In response to this hard fork, 59.3% of the nodes running Bitcoin ABC code have been upgraded to the latest version 0.17.0, and 5.8% of the nodes running Bitcoin Unlimited code have been updated to the latest version 1.3.0.0. From the data, the number of nodes that have updated to the new version is not very ideal. However, there is still more than half a month before the hard fork, and during this period, many nodes should continue to join in to support the new Bitcoin Cash.

Finally, there are Bitcoin Cash supporters. In order to allow more nodes to participate in this hard fork upgrade, Bitcoin Cash supporters are also contributing their efforts. Some supporters tweeted on Twitter to call on node holders to update on the Bitcoin Cash official website. Of course, in addition to this, there are also channels such as emails for notification. I believe that with the efforts of the majority of community members, node holders will soon respond to their call and complete the upgrade in order to bring users a better user experience and updated functions.

In addition to these supports, the Bitcoin Cash community has also launched a simple tool mainly for the newly added OP-Codes. Developers can use this tool to understand the functions of these opcodes, and can also obtain script examples of these opcodes through the search function. Although these opcodes will not be added until after the Bitcoin Cash hard fork, the existence of this tool will facilitate developers to develop more applications on the Bitcoin Cash network in the future. With these supports, many applications will be launched after the Bitcoin Cash hard fork.
