Star Trek's first captain joins New Energy Bitcoin mining company

According to Forbes, William Shatner, who played the first captain in the famous American science fiction movie "Star Trek", has joined Solar Alliance, a new energy company in Vancouver, Canada, as a spokesperson to promote the company's digital currency business.

Previously, Shatner was dismissive of Bitcoin, but has recently begun to change his attitude. Shatner said that he is honored to join the company and participate in the digital currency revolution, and that solar energy as a mining energy supply will be more cost-effective.

Solar Alliance is reportedly planning to transform an abandoned factory in southern Illinois into a Bitcoin mining farm. Jason Bak, the company’s CEO, said Illinois’ policy requires utility companies to purchase renewable energy, which is very beneficial to the company’s project.
