Japan arrests 16 suspects in Monero theft

According to Japan's Asahi Shimbun, supervisory departments in 10 regions of Japan have arrested a total of 16 criminals suspected of stealing computing power from ordinary users' computers to mine Monero.

It is reported that these suspects stole computing power by forcibly installing malware on users' computers. The suspects ranged in age from 18 to 48. The highest profit the suspects earned from stealing computing power for mining was only $1,084, because they could only get 70% of the profit, and the remaining 30% had to be handed over to Coinhive.
