Hydro-Quebec plans to provide 500 MW of power for cryptocurrency mining

According to CoinDesk, the Canadian province of Quebec recently plans to provide hydroelectric power to cryptocurrency miners in the region. If the project is approved, miners will receive 500 megawatts of electricity provided by the Hydroelectric Power Bureau for mining.

Due to the huge amount of electricity required for mining, miners, governments and residents in North America often have disputes over power shortages. Hydro-Quebec has previously stated that it cannot meet all power needs, so it plans to let users negotiate power quotas in order to reasonably distribute power.
