Valve removes games suspected of installing mining viruses from Steam

According to cointelegraph, the gaming company Valve has removed its game Abstractism from the Steam platform and banned its developers from joining the platform.

Previously, it was reported that the game would install a Trojan virus on players' computers, disguised as the Steam.exe process, and run malware at the same time as the "Abstractism Launcher" was started. The installed malware seemed to be used to mine digital currency, and was accompanied by a surge in CPU and GPU usage.

Further investigation by various players revealed that the infected users' computers were being used to mine Monero, an accusation denied by the game's developers.
