Report: North Korea sends IT workers overseas to earn foreign exchange for North Korea through mining

According to the Japanese version of Chosun Ilbo, a US non-profit organization C4ADS, which is dedicated to data analysis of global conflicts and other issues, recently released a report estimating that North Korean IT workers sent overseas earn an average of $100,000 per year through virtual currency mining, hacking, APP development, facial recognition software development, etc. The report said that the North Korean government grabs 70% to 90% of the income of about 100,000 workers sent overseas, earning at least $1.2 billion and up to $2.3 billion each year in this way.

According to the Wall Street News, more than 10,000 North Korean workers have recently flowed into Russia. The foreign exchange earned by sending workers overseas is the main source of funds for the North Korean government.
