Energy researcher: Bitcoin mining energy crisis is alarmist

According to professional assessment by energy researcher and University of Pittsburgh electrical and computer engineering research assistant Dr. Katrina Kelly-Pitou, Bitcoin mining's energy consumption should not be described as some kind of fatal flaw, just like energy-intensive industries such as computers, trains, and airplanes, which were all very energy-intensive when they were first invented, but all of them have become more efficient over time. Bitcoin mining's energy consumption currently accounts for only 2% of the global share, and Bitcoin mining also tends to use renewable energy, so it will not have much impact on the environment.
