Bitmain Mall now requires identity verification before purchasing mining equipment

According to Trustnodes, Bitmain now requires users to provide identification documents (such as passports and driver's licenses) and address confirmation before purchasing ASICs or other mining equipment. Bitmain has not yet issued a statement on the matter.

According to an email from Bitmain to its users, individual users in China can purchase mining equipment worth up to $45,000 without identification, but users in other regions cannot purchase any mining equipment from Bitmain before identification. Some speculate that this may be related to Bitmain’s planned IPO, which may have additional requirements, including identification requirements such as identity verification and address confirmation.
