Fortress Blockchain, located in Grant County, Washington, announced that the county's new electricity price increase plan 17-B will affect the company's future mining deployment in the area. The plan stipulates that from April 1, 2019, the electricity price for cryptocurrency miners will rise to $0.034/kWhr, a 30.7% increase from the current $0.026/kWhr. It is reported that the Grant County Public Utilities Commission will also vote on whether to continue to increase the electricity price in the 17-B plan on April 1, 2020 and April 1, 2021, and how much to increase.
