f2pool: New firmware can reduce the power consumption of ASIC mining machines by nearly 20%

Recently, Bitmain's official blog released the firmware of Antminer S9 to implement the "Explicit AsicBoost" function. They will also release firmware that can activate this function in other BM1387-based models within a week, namely Antminer R4, S9i, S9j, T9 and T9+. This step will improve the performance of several Antminer models and reduce power consumption. It is understood that AsicBoost refers to an optimization algorithm for Bitcoin mining that uses the characteristics of the block format to reduce the hash rounds of ASIC miners, thereby reducing power consumption by nearly 20% and increasing mining profits.

As early as April this year, F2Pool was the first to support the Innosilicon AsicBoost mining function, and is also compatible with Antminer AsicBoost. After Bitmain officially released the new firmware, F2Pool also participated in the test of the new firmware to reduce power consumption.
