f2pool BEAM Mining Tutorial

Beam is developed based on the MimbleWimble protocol, which has good privacy protection and scalability. In the first 12 to 18 months, in order to ensure its ASIC resistance, a hard fork will be carried out approximately every six months to adjust the mining algorithm. The current mining algorithm is Equihash 150,5.

1. Mining equipment and mining environment

Mining equipment: Supports CPU, GPU (N card, A card, video memory requires 4G and above) mining, does not support ASIC mining machines such as A9, Z9, etc. GTX1060 3G card can also be used for mining, currently only supported by minerOS.

Operating system: Windows, Linux, Mac is not currently supported.

Mining software: Bminer (NVIDIA & AMD), BEAM official cuda-miner (NIVDIA), BEAM official opencl-miner (AMD), GMiner (NVIDIA).

2. Get the wallet address

Currently, it is supported by exchanges, but it has not been officially certified by BEAM, and the wallet cannot be audited. It is risky to use and is not recommended. You can obtain a full node wallet through the following channels:

When generating a wallet address, select "never" for the "Expires" option to avoid losses due to wallet address expiration; the mnemonic phrase of the full node wallet must be kept safe and not disclosed, as it will be needed when using it on a new device or restoring the wallet. 3. Get mining software

The mining software can be obtained through the following link.

The F2Pool version has created a batch file for miners. The default mining pool is F2Pool. Just replace the wallet address in the configuration parameters with your own BEAM wallet address and save the settings.

The original miner software requires miners to create batch files by themselves and configure them according to the following parameters.

4. Set mining parameters and start mining

4.1 GMiner mining software settings (support N card)

Download the GMiner mining software, select "Extract files to current folder", and find the "start.bat" file, as shown below:

Right-click "start.bat" and select "Edit". In the start.bat file, set the parameters as follows:

miner.exe –algo 150_5 –server beam.f2pool.com –port 5000 –ssl 1 –user wallet_address . worker_name

As shown in the figure below. Set the BEAM mining pool address, and set the miner's own BEAM coin receiving address and miner number. If there are multiple machines, setting the miner number can be used to distinguish the machines. The wallet address and miner number are separated by an English period ".". When modifying, only modify the corresponding characters, and do not add or reduce spaces or punctuation.

After setting the mining parameters, save and run the "start.bat" file to start mining.

4.2 Bminer mining software settings (support N card, A card)

Download the Bminer mining software, select "Extract files to current folder", and find the "start.bat" file, as shown below:

Right-click "start.bat" and select "Edit". In the start.bat file, set the parameters as follows:

bminer -uri beam+ssl:// wallet_address . worker_name @beam.f2pool.com:5000

4.3 BEAM official mining software settings

Taking the N card as an example, after obtaining the mining software, decompress it to the current folder and find the "start.bat" file.

Right-click "start.bat", select Edit, open the file, and set the mining parameters as follows:

N card:

beam-cuda-miner –server beam.f2pool.com:5000 –key wallet_address . worker_name

A card:

beam-opencl-miner –server beam.f2pool.com:5000 –key wallet_address . worker_name

As shown in the figure below, check the BEAM mining pool address and port number, and set your own BEAM coin receiving address and miner number. The wallet address and miner number are separated by an English period ".".

Then, save and run the "start.bat" file to start mining.

5. Mining machine monitoring and profit viewing

1. After the machine runs for a while and submits data to the mining pool, you can check the operating status and income of the mining machine. You can visit the official website of F2Pool ( https://www.f2pool.com ), enter the wallet address in the search bar in the upper right corner, and click View to view the mining machine status and income.

2. You can also log in through the F2Pool App ( click to download ), select "Quick View" in the lower right corner of the login page, and enter the BEAM wallet address set in the mining software to log in.
