OBELISK GRN1

Used for Grin mining

Grin Details

Grin is a private and lightweight implementation of the mimblewimble blockchain. Launched on January 15, 2019, Grin is committed to scalability, openness, fair distribution, and privacy by default.

Grin's Proof-of-Work consists of two groups of algorithms, one that is ASIC-resistant and the other that is ASIC-friendly. ASIC-friendly algorithms are phased in over time, reaching 100% of block rewards by January 2021. Grin's first ASIC-friendly algorithm is Cuckatoo31+, which should remain dominant until approximately April 2020.

GRN1 Miner Details

Oblisk expects to complete our Cuckatoo31+ ASIC design by the end of March 2019. We are working towards an October 2019 ship date for the GRN1.

Preliminary Specifications

Based on early designs, we estimate that Oblisk GRN1 can achieve 100G @ 800W. In comparison, the NVIDIA RTX 2080 Ti achieves approximately 2 GPS at 250W.

Please note - these estimates are very preliminary. In March we expect to complete full ASIC simulations and we will be able to provide more accurate estimated specifications.

Sales Information

This promotion allows you to get Oblisk GRN1 at a significant discount by purchasing coupons. Each coupon costs $3,000 and can be exchanged for one GRN1 miner.

When we launch the full machine sale, expected in mid-March, we will sell the GRN1 miners for $6000 each. This coupon promotion allows you to get the miners at a 50% discount.

From each $3,000 coupon, Oblisk will use approximately $1,000 for chip development, electromechanical design, and chip tape-out. Therefore, this $1,000 is non-refundable because it allows us to cover non-recurring engineering expenses.

In mid-March we expect to launch the full machine sale. In addition to this we will provide updated specs based on ASIC simulations and updated estimated shipping dates. If you are not satisfied for any reason before the full machine sale ends, we will refund your voucher $2,000 - no questions asked.

We will be giving away up to 10,000 coupons during this sale. We are also excited to announce that we will be giving away $100 worth of coupons to fund Grin development!
