On Valentine’s Day, we received breaking news about the IPFS protocol experiment.
Today, we’re excited to open several repos on GitHub and invite everyone to join us on GitHub . Come learn about the Filecoin code and contribute to development. As described in this previous update , we started our codebase privately to avoid distractions and focus on rapid development. Now, we’ve reached the next important milestone . If you’re a developer, researcher, miner, or user, or just want to support us, this is an exciting time and we hope you’ll get involved! Please note: Filecoin is thriving. The code is changing dramatically every day. At this stage, repos , devnets , and other resources are for development . This release is intended for developers, researchers, and community members who want to help make Filecoin work. Miners and users seeking to use Filecoin will want to wait for a future release (likely a testnet milestone ). Read our Getting Started guide to learn more. What is this version? A few hours ago , we opened up the Filecoin Project codebase on GitHub , developer networks ( user and nightly devnets), chat channels ( Slack , Matrix , IRC coming soon ), discussion forums , and project management tools . Here’s what that means:
The code base is open and worth noting:
And, as we explained in our broader Q3/Q4 update , there’s more Important Note This is not a launch of the Filecoin mainnet . Rops and devnets are primarily for developer and researcher testing . Miners should not invest in mining hardware based on any current specs or implementations as they are certain to change. We will host a Q&A session for miners in late Q1 2019 and update the community once a date / time is set. Please prepare the miner testing form to be notified when it is ready for testing by future Filecoin miners. Filecoin graphical interface Filecoin Storage Miners Filecoin Storage Prices StarBit has independent hardware research and development, blockchain operating system, App remote multi-site monitoring and management and other products, allowing users to participate in blockchain mining construction "without barriers". As a new generation of Internet startups, StarBit has always adhered to the open source concept of freedom, equality and sharing, constantly pursued the value of self-realization, and continued to deepen the underlying technology of network protocols. We have made a milestone breakthrough in NAT penetration technology, increasing the intranet penetration rate from the original 1% to 85%. This technology called TNT has achieved a qualitative leap in intranet penetration. TNT's original transparent hole-punching solution is imperceptible to the user-side penetration connection. The entire penetration process does not require manual intervention by the user. It is an intelligent and fully automatic identification and connection. It does not require the replacement and configuration of the router, nor does it require the modification of the configuration of the optical modem. It is truly plug-and-play. NAT technology can effectively improve the transmission efficiency of storage and increase the benefits for users. This technology will surely shine in the direction of blockchain storage . |
