In mid-June, the Conghua police received a tip from Guangzhou Customs and the Anti-Drug Brigade that a parcel from abroad that was delivered to Conghua by express delivery contained drugs. After receiving the tip, the police immediately launched an investigation.

The drug-related mail package only had an Internet phone number and a relatively large address for delivery, and no other valuable information. At this point, the recipient seemed to notice something was wrong, and the Internet phone number was shut down, making it impossible to contact the recipient. The identity of the recipient could not be verified, and the phone was also shut down, so the investigation of the case came to a standstill.

The police officers in charge of the case adjusted their investigative ideas in a timely manner and finally identified the suspect through extensive visits and in-depth analysis.

On June 25, the police officers in charge of the case decisively closed the net and arrested the suspect Kuang in a residential area in Jiangpu Street.

After interrogation, Kuang confessed to the fact that he smoked and smuggled marijuana. According to Kuang's confession, after he was invited by a friend to get involved in drugs, he searched for sellers on the domestic Internet and wanted to buy marijuana, but was defrauded three times. After the domestic purchase channels were cut off, Kuang was introduced by netizens and downloaded a chat software through the overseas "dark web". Then he used code words to join some chat groups and found overseas drug traffickers. Later, he used the "Bitcoin" transaction method to pay the drug money to the overseas drug traffickers and attempted to mail the drugs through international express delivery.

At present, Kuang has been criminally detained by Conghua police in accordance with the law on suspicion of drug smuggling, and the case is still under further investigation.
