Xiao Guihua, founder of Guihua Technology: The survival rule of the mining industry is not gender advantage, but work style - Exclusive interview with Wabi.com

Xiao Guihua is well-known in the mining industry. Many people call her the goddess of the mining industry, but after getting to know her, you will find that she does not have the cold and arrogant air of a goddess, but instead exudes a chivalrous and tender heart.

Recently, Wabi.com took the opportunity of Mr. Xiao's attendance at the Diaoyutai Caixin Dinner to conduct an exclusive interview with Mr. Xiao. The following is the full conversation between Kiki, co-founder of Wabi.com, and Ms. Xiao Guihua, founder of Guihua Technology:

Kiki coin mining network: We all know that Mr. Xiao, you have been involved in the mining machine industry since 2014. The whole process from being alone to developing a team and establishing a company has not been smooth sailing. Have you given up anything for the mining career?

Xiao Guihua: I definitely had to give up something, because when I first entered this industry, I had to go out to do marketing. When I went out, my baby was only three years old. Over the years, I went home a few times a month and could only stay for a few days. My child's education and training were the most lacking. For my family, I could only make up for it in other ways, but I really didn't put too much energy into it. I basically put all of it into my career.

Kiki from MiningCoin.com: In the current market environment, not only is the competition among brands becoming increasingly fierce, but the mining industry is also highly homogenized. Mr. Xiao, how do you manage to break through the competition?

Xiao Guihua: I think mining is the lowest threshold in the Bitcoin industry chain. There are a lot of people in the market now. Many people just post their names in the group and start advertising. You don’t know who owns their machine. I still focus on the reputation of Guihua Technology, which has been accumulated over a long period of time. Over time, more people will know about it. New users may not know much about it now, but they will understand it after a long time in the industry. Guihua Technology is mainly engaged in trade. My principle is to shoulder the responsibilities that should be shouldered and to bear the responsibilities that should be borne.

Kiki: In what aspects will Guihua Technology seek differentiated competition in its future business layout?

Xiao Guihua: Mining machine sales is definitely a business that I have always attached great importance to over the years. However, if we want to do a better job in mining machine sales, we must have the support of core resources. Therefore, I will definitely increase my efforts in the next step of mine layout.

Kiki from MiningCoin.com: We found that most of the customers of mining machine dealers are domestic miners, and they mainly communicate through WeChat. However, Guihua Technology’s customers have developed overseas. How did your company break through this limitation?

Xiao Guihua: When I first started to work in overseas markets, I found that Shenzhen’s window was facing overseas. I was the first mining company to go to Shenzhen, not counting the companies that had previously done business in Shenzhen. Later, I went to Iran and found that the price gap between Iranian mining machines and domestic ones was indeed very large, so I made up my mind to work hard in overseas markets. Because I had no foundation in overseas trade, I found several foreign trade companies in Shenzhen, asked them to be my agents, and then I opened up the market.

Kiki from MiningCoin.com: The recent removal of “virtual currency mining” from the list of “eliminated industries” by the National Development and Reform Commission has caused a sensation in the entire mining circle and attracted a lot of attention. What do you think about this?

Xiao Guihua: I think blockchain has been defined as a key development industry by national leaders, and Bitcoin is a typical and mature application of blockchain. Local governments are actually not unfamiliar with the mining industry, so in the future they will definitely support it from all aspects.

Kiki from MiningCoin.com: We heard some news that you acquired a mining machine manufacturing company. We would like to verify the authenticity of the information with you. Will Guihua Technology enter the field of mining machine production and manufacturing in the future?

Xiao Guihua: It wasn’t really an acquisition. I was just investing in some companies that were having some operational difficulties. At the time, I also wanted to develop a mining machine production business, so it was a kind of investment.

Kiki from MiningCoin: As a legend in the industry, everyone is actually curious about your personal life. How do you balance your career and family between being an ordinary woman and a female entrepreneur? Do you think women have more advantages or disadvantages in the competition in the mining industry?

Xiao Guihua: I come from a rural family. I don’t want the next generation to experience the cold stares I suffered when I was a child. But I don’t have to be a strong woman. My life plan is different in each stage. When my career is rising, I will devote more to my career. When my career enters a stable stage, I will still shift my focus back to my family. I think that competition in the industry is gender-neutral. Whether you are a woman or a man, your partners will definitely look at your work style in the end. My success is not because I am a woman, but because my personal style may be more generous than some men, and I can see further.

Kiki from MiningCoin.com: For every newcomer to the mining circle, there will be a guide who has a profound influence on him or her. Mr. Xiao, from the time you started your career till now, who do you think has had the greatest influence or help on you?

Xiao Guihua: I think it was my brother. I am the third child in my family. I have an older brother and an older sister. I came into contact with Bitcoin because of my brother. He was the first person in my family to come into contact with Bitcoin. My brother is 46 years old this year. He is the first college student in our family. My parents are farmers. At each stage of my growth, my brother basically helped me to guide the direction of my life. He also taught me how to mine. But he did not advocate that I leave the state-owned enterprise and go into business, and I insisted on my own choice and direction.

Over the years, I have experienced a lot because I don't have much social experience. Whenever I encounter difficulties, I will call my brother. He always wakes you up with one word. One word can make you change a lot. My brother has spared no effort to help me, both mentally and financially. Many people in the mining circle have helped me. Although I have not measured the size of this help, I will remember all those who have helped me. They are all my benefactors.
