Comeback: Zhan Ketuan builds new company, recruits senior people from mainland China to continue AI

On March 11, according to Qichacha information, Shenlian Finance reported that Zhan Ketuan has established a new company and serves as the legal representative.

Wu said blockchain learned that Zhan Ketuan is trying to poach people from Bitmain, but few people responded. In addition, the direction of the new company is the artificial intelligence server, which he is most optimistic about.

Zhan Ketuan's new company is called Shenzhen Suanneng Technology Co., Ltd., which has a Beijing subsidiary, Beijing Suanneng Technology Co., Ltd., indicating that the new company's office locations should be in Shenzhen and Beijing. The profile shows that Zhan Ketuan's partner Li Qi is the founder of Shenzhen Qianhai Jingu Technology Development Co., Ltd. and has worked at Huawei Terminal Company in Canada. People familiar with the matter revealed that Li Qi is Zhan Ketuan's classmate.

According to insiders, Zhan Ketuan is currently poaching people from Bitmain, and his future career direction is still artificial intelligence servers. AI servers were the project that Zhan Ketuan was most optimistic about when he was at Bitmain, but the market response was not good. Currently, under the leadership of the new CEO, Bitmain's AI division will be closer to the model of Cambrian, focusing on selling boards and modules to Internet companies.

In 2019, under the personal leadership of Zhan Ketuan, Bitmain's mining machine and mining pool businesses were hindered. After Wu Jihan returned, he made some personnel optimization actions, but few resigned employees joined Zhan Ketuan's company. For example, Wang, the HRD of Huawei who was most trusted by Zhan Ketuan, quickly joined an artificial intelligence company in Nanjing, and most of the other resigned employees also joined traditional Internet and AI companies.

When Bitmain laid off employees in early 2020, Zhan Ketuan organized the laid-off employees into a small group and expressed his desire to "save the company, save the team, and save the business", but there has been no movement in the group since then.

At present, Zhan Ketuan has hired lawyers in Hong Kong and Beijing to freeze part of the equity of Bitmain's Fuzhou subsidiary and filed a lawsuit in Cayman, but it is unlikely to be effective in the short term. An investor told Wu Blockchain that this kind of lawsuit about corporate control is protracted, and Bitmain will be more stable under the rational leadership of Wu Jihan in the future. Zhan Ketuan's wild ideas and setting up a new company to do his favorite AI business should be a win-win situation.
