Annual salary of blockchain talents in three cities exceeds 300,000 yuan, with Wuhan surpassing Shanghai

According to the "2020 China Blockchain Talent Development Report", in 2019, the annual salary of blockchain practitioners was in the range of 200,000 to 400,000 yuan, accounting for the highest proportion, about 43.3%, of which the annual salary of 200,000 to 300,000 yuan was the largest, accounting for 24.53%. In addition, the annual salary of blockchain practitioners was in the range of 500,000 to 1 million yuan, accounting for about 15.15%. In 2019, the salaries of Shenzhen, Beijing, and Hangzhou ranked among the top three in the country, with average annual salaries of 326,300 yuan, 316,800 yuan, and 314,100 yuan respectively.

The report shows that the cities with higher average blockchain salaries are mainly concentrated in first-tier and new first-tier cities. The blockchain competitiveness of first-tier cities is unquestionable, and with the continuous support of local governments, new first-tier cities have also gradually developed the blockchain industry to catch up with the development pace of big cities. Among them, Hangzhou has successfully ranked among the top three cities in the country in terms of average blockchain salary, and Wuhan has surpassed Shanghai to rank fourth.

In July and November 2019, the number of blockchain job postings by companies reached a peak, accounting for 15.1% and 10.3% respectively.

The reason behind this is that the demand for blockchain recruitment is greatly affected by global events and national policies. In July last year, Facebook announced that it would launch the virtual digital currency Libra to the world, which attracted widespread attention from around the world and greatly stimulated the demand for talent among blockchain companies. In that month, the number of blockchain-related positions released by companies increased by 8.4% from June.

The report shows that among the companies participating in the recruitment of blockchain positions in 2019, companies with a scale of less than 499 people accounted for as high as 70%, among which medium-sized companies with a scale of 100-499 people had the largest number of recruits, accounting for 36.7%.

In addition, in 2019, the recruitment demand of large enterprises with a scale of more than 1,000 or 10,000 employees showed an upward trend.

These large companies are mainly Internet giants and listed companies. For example, Alibaba, Tencent and Baidu added a number of blockchain-related positions in 2019, most of which came from their blockchain business departments, and there is a large talent gap. In addition, in 2019, a large number of listed companies also began to extend an "olive branch" to blockchain talents. For example, in October 2019 alone, 28 listed companies issued relevant needs for blockchain talent recruitment.
