Fujian's first virtual currency case was cracked, the person purchased other people's information to claim exchange rewards

It is reported that in September 2019, after more than four months of investigation and evidence collection, the police from the Cyber ​​Security Brigade of the Xiuyu Branch of the Putian Public Security Bureau successfully arrested Xu Mouhang, who was suspected of illegally obtaining computer information system data. On the same day, Xu Mouhang was criminally detained by the public security organs and prosecuted by the procuratorate in accordance with the law in February this year.

After the incident, the co-defendant Xu Moubin absconded for fear of crime. On March 31 this year, under pressure from the law, Xu Moubin took the initiative to surrender to the Xiuyu police. Thus, the first case of illegal acquisition of computer information system data involving virtual currency in Fujian Province was solved.

According to the police, in March last year, Xu Mouhang (27 years old, high school educated, unemployed), a Putian man, obtained a download link of a virtual currency trading platform through WeChat and registered his account on the digital currency trading platform with his own identity information. During the transaction, Xu Mouhang took advantage of the management loopholes in the system and adopted the illegal means of "making money out of nothing" to obtain a large amount of USDT (also known as Tether, a virtual currency) from the platform.

In order to obtain huge profits, Xu Mouhang purchased other people's identity information online to register more accounts to illegally withdraw USDT, and on the other hand, he informed Xu Moubin of the means of withdrawing USDT. Driven by interests, the two hit it off and agreed to use Xu Moubin's identity to register an account, enter the platform to continue to illegally withdraw USDT, and share the profits equally. Xu Mouhang entered the platform many times and illegally obtained more than 110,000 USDT. Xu Mouhang used the obtained USDT for illegal selling transactions, making a profit of more than 260,000 yuan, and Xu Moubin made an illegal profit of more than 80,000 yuan.
