Announcement | Qitmeer Medina Network 2.0 is officially launched

Dear Qitmeer community users, Qitmeer Medina Newtork 2.0 (Medina Network 2.0) will be officially launched at 10 am on June 24, 2020 (Beijing time) !

Medina Network 1.0 After nearly half a year of operation, the Qitmeer network has begun to develop in scale, with an average daily computing power of about 2400kGPS. The reliability and security of the Qitmeer BlockDAG network have been well tested and verified.

Qitmeer Medina Network is now welcoming its first major upgrade. This upgrade not only optimizes the network structure, but also adjusts the PoW mining algorithm, which is of great significance to the further development and growth of the Qitmeer network ecosystem.

After this upgrade, the latest version of the Qitmeer Meidna Network node is qitmeer-0.9.0 , which is incompatible with qitmeer-0.8.5. Please download the latest node program and mining program to participate in the network !

After the upgrade is completed, the Qitmeer block browser will resume service soon; at the same time, the Kahf wallet will also gradually resume its functions. For specific details, please pay attention to the official announcement of the Kahf wallet ( Kahf official website: https://www.kahf.io ).

The main contents of this upgrade

  • Added pow algorithm: qitmeer-keccak256

  • Replace GPU algorithm with cuckaroom29 large image mode

  • Update DAG difficulty adjustment algorithm

  • Optimize transaction fee distribution mechanism

The hardware and software configuration required to participate in Medina Newtork 2.0:

1) Mining configuration:

  • Operating system: Win10/Mac/Linux
  • Processor: 4 cores recommended
  • Memory: 6GiB and above recommended
  • Graphics card: independent graphics card, minimum 6G video memory, N card is recommended, support cuda
  • Hard disk: 20 GiB recommended

2) Minimum configuration of node server:

  • Operating system: Ubuntu/Centos and other mainstream Linux 64-bit versions
  • CPU: 2 cores
  • Memory: 2G
  • Hard disk: 40G+
  • Network: Dedicated IP, 2MB bandwidth
  • Firewall: Open port 18130 (for Qitmeer node data synchronization)
