Several BCH node developers announced that they will implement the new algorithm in November this year

According to Blockbeats, on August 7, several BCH node developers issued a joint statement, planning to implement the aserti3-2d difficulty adjustment algorithm (ASERT DAA) on the Bitcoin Cash (BCH) chain on November 15, 2020. According to the introduction, this algorithm was designed by Mark Lundeberg and implemented in collaboration with Jonathan Toomim and other developers.

These developers come from teams such as BU, Electron Cash, BCHD, and BCHN, and are composed of node developers, infrastructure operators, service providers, engineers, and BCH holders. According to the statement, aserti3-2d is easy to implement and has been thoroughly tested and fully simulated. This algorithm will incentivize stable mining, achieve stable transaction confirmation with a low-volatility block time target, and be resistant to future block drift.

It is understood that the controversy within the BCH community was caused by the fact that developer Jonathan Toomim had previously proposed a well-tested "aserti3-2d" proposal, but was opposed by Amuary. Amuary then proposed a proposal called Grasberg, but the proposal was opposed by some community members.
