Filecoin Online Community Meeting: Space Race is expected to start the week of August 17

Protocol Labs compiled IPFS Force Zone

At 4:00-5:00 a.m. Beijing time on August 12, Filecoin officially launched an online community meeting. The meeting mainly mentioned some ecological applications of IPFS/Filecoin, community activities, and the space race that Filecoin miners are most concerned about.
The space race, with a reward of up to 4.25 million FIL, aims to encourage more miners around the world to participate in the ecological construction of the Filecoin network. Michelle Lee, product manager of Protocol Labs, introduced in an online meeting that after 5 rounds of calibration, the Calibration network has achieved significant improvements in three aspects: miner connectivity rate, retrieval order throughput, gas fees, and message pool (mempool) carrying capacity.

The launch time of Filecoin Space Race has been updated and is expected to start on the week of August 17. The order success rate is a key data indicator for the official judgment on whether to start the Space Race. Currently, among the top 25 mining nodes in the world, several mining nodes have a 100% order success rate. It is worth mentioning that more than 60% of these nodes are provided with technical service support by the Force Zone.
DataHub and Fleek are the IPFS/Filecoin ecosystem application tools mentioned in this online conference. DataHub, launched by FigmentNetworks, is a Web3 resource manager and developer tool that aims to enable more developers to easily use blockchain and Web3 technologies to build projects. DataHub can also establish reputation system specifications and APIs for Filecoin storage miners.
Fleek is an encrypted web application for IPFS network data. Users can use Fleek to encrypt data before uploading it to IPFS, thereby ensuring the privacy and security of user data.

The online meeting also mentioned the Apollo event jointly organized by Gitcoin and Filecoin. Apollo is scheduled to start on August 25 (originally scheduled for August 19, but may be postponed for a week) and will last for 6 weeks. Its purpose is to attract more technical teams to participate in the Filecoin ecosystem and connect more projects and application scenarios to the Filecoin network. So far, 200 people and 69 projects have signed up to participate.
