Elon Musk has expressed skepticism about the presence of a Bitcoin ATM at the Tesla Gigafactory in Nevada. Twitter user Will Reeves first claimed to have seen the Bitcoin ATM, posting on Sunday that he "just passed by Elon Musk's Gigafactory and saw a Bitcoin ATM." The tweet was accompanied by a Google Map showing the location of the ATM located on the north side of the massive factory. LibertyX installed the ATM in August for use only by factory employees, Finbold reported on Sunday. However, Tesla founder and CEO Elon Musk tweeted on Monday that he did not believe the claim was "accurate." Musk replied to the now-deleted post, presumably in response to his tweet. However, bitcoin ATM operator LibertyX confirmed Reeves’ findings directly to CoinDesk, stating: “We enabled 3 traditional ATMs inside so employees can purchase bitcoin using debit cards.” LibertyX now claims to have more than 5,000 crypto ATMs in the U.S., offering bitcoin purchases in around 20,000 stores. |
