According to BlockBeats, on December 10, Marathon Patent Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: MARA), one of the largest Bitcoin mining companies in North America, signed a contract with Bitmain to purchase 10,000 Antminer S-19j Pro mining machines, which is worth about $26.84 million based on the current official website price. Under the terms of the agreement, Marathon will receive the first batch of 6,000 S-19j Pro mining machines in August 2021. The remaining 4,000 will be delivered in September 2021. Once Marathon completes the delivery of the purchased mining machines and fully deploys them, the company's mining portfolio will include 33,560 mining machines with a computing power of 3.56 EH/s. “At this time, we believe our second facility will have operating costs comparable to the industry-leading Hardin facility: $0.028 per kWh, or $0.006 per host operating cost,” said Merrick Okamoto, chairman and CEO of Marathon. |
