Canaan releases the world's first immersion liquid-cooled mining machine to reduce temperature, noise and overclock

Recently, Canaan released the world's first immersion liquid cooling solution and mining module. This module is dedicated to the development of immersion liquid cooling mines, effectively improving the heat dissipation efficiency of the machine and optimizing the energy efficiency ratio. At the same time, compared with traditional mining machines, this module only needs to be configured with two computing boards under the same computing power conditions, and the overclocking ratio under low temperature conditions can reach 45%.

Liquid Cooling Mining: Overclocking, Cooling, Noise Reduction, and Environmentally Friendly

The basic principle of liquid cooling mining is to reduce the temperature of the machine through heat exchange. In order to verify the feasibility of the liquid cooling mining module, Avalon designed a complete liquid cooling system solution.

In this system, the mining module is directly immersed in customized liquid cooling oil to absorb the heat of the mining machine, and then the heated coolant is cooled by the cooling system and circulated back to the liquid cooling tank. The coolant circulates in the liquid cooling tank, allowing the mining machine module to operate at a constant temperature of about 28 degrees Celsius, greatly improving the heat dissipation efficiency of the machine and optimizing the energy efficiency ratio.

Compared with other liquid cooling solutions, the Avalon liquid cooling mining module has the following three advantages.

The first is overclocking mining, which reduces the unit computing power cost. Thanks to the constant low temperature environment provided by the liquid cooling system, a single module only needs two computing boards to achieve a high computing power level, and its overclocking mining ratio can reach 45%. In some areas with low electricity costs, the module will bring benefits to miners with absolute computing power.

Secondly, it is noiseless mining and environmentally friendly. Since the mining module is completely immersed in the coolant, it makes almost no noise during operation. On the other hand, liquid-cooled mining can reduce the fixed facilities and operation and maintenance costs of the mine. A typical mine requires professional equipment such as large negative pressure fans, water curtains and transformer boxes. The deployment and daily maintenance of these facilities consume a lot of capital and manpower costs. Through the deployment of liquid cooling circulation systems and mining machines, these costs can be reduced and more computing power can be deployed within a unit site area.

Third, extend the service life of the machine.
