21 Crypto Predictions for 2021

Here are my 21 predictions for 2021 (if you disagree , place a bet on the prediction markets ! )

1 - Increased liquidity from the merger of DeFi and NFT use cases, and increased valuations for all NFT- related projects

(It is wise to buy NFTs and native assets without adding LP pools, otherwise it will trigger impermanent loss as seen in liquidity mining.)

2 - 2021 will see more forks of core products due to teams being unable to please their communities .

3 - There’s a lot of talk about L2 , but 2021 may actually see more “Layer 3”, Dapps built on Layer 2 , or Dapps built on the Ethereum core protocol (e.g. dhedge powered by synthetix ).

4 - The biggest acquisitions in 2021 are likely to come in areas like user and infrastructure tools (dextools, astrotools, chartpropro) as more users take custody of their own funds.

5 – At least 5 prominent professional athletes will be invited into the crypto community, triggering an “institutional-sized” influx of wealth.

6 - In the DeFi field, fixed-term deposits and fixed-term yields will replace the original yield mining in 2020. Under a normal interest rate curve, longer terms mean higher returns and longer-term stability , and will reduce unsustainable 2 pools.

7 - 2021 will be a year of rapid talent turnover: more talent will join new teams than ever before. Twitter profiles will change rapidly.

8 - Social tokens will become increasingly popular as more creators learn about crypto as a way to provide the best service and tokenize their fan base through tools like Roll, Matataki, and more . By 2021, at least 1 social token will be in the top 250 market cap list for at least 1 week.

9 - Ethereum will outperform BTC in 2021.

10 - Ethereum could easily surpass its previous high before the end of H1 2021. The AUM of the Defipulse Index will reach $100 million.

11 - NFT assets in Cryptopunk @cryptopunksbot or Axie @AxieInfinity , at least two of which will sell for $500,000 by 2021.

12 - At least one major (top 25) centralized exchange will be forced to shut down due to regulatory issues.

13 - Remote work will be a positive factor in attracting more talent from traditional industries. 2021 will see the largest cohort of young talent entering this field yet .

14 - By 2021, at least one country will hold BTC as its sovereign reserve.

15 - Microstrategy will become the largest public company with BTC reserves.

16 - A major social media platform will launch a cryptocurrency with actual daily usage , but the question is which L2 will it use?

17 - Despite the possibility of blanket pull, anonymous developers will become the norm, not the exception.

18 - At least 5 more Long Island Iced Tea type companies will begin attempting to rebrand themselves as blockchain companies.

19 - AMM will have $100 billion in total assets across all chains (not just ETH).

20 - According to Defipulse , the total value locked in DeFi will reach $50 billion by the end of 2021 .

2 1 - Another version of the wrapped BTC solution will become the king and have more locked volume than renBTC and keepBTC.
