At the end of 2020, the police officer Li wanted to sell the virtual currency Tether and contacted the buyer Chen through an intermediary. Li negotiated with Chen through a chat software, and the two parties agreed to a deal of RMB 670,000 and agreed to conduct the transaction at the gate of a community in Siming District.

At about 13:00 on December 29, Li, Chen and others arrived at the transaction location one after another, and the two parties conducted the transaction in Chen's car. After Li counted and confirmed that there was 670,000 yuan in cash in the bag brought by Chen, he transferred 105,980 Tether coins to the wallet account designated by the other party through the digital wallet platform. After confirming that the Tether coins had arrived, Chen took out a baton to threaten Li, dragged him out of the car, and then drove away from the scene.
