On March 18, Bitfly, the parent company of the Ethermine mining pool, officially announced that it has launched the Ethermine MEV testing program to compensate for the reduction in mining rewards due to the upcoming EIP-1559. According to the plan, 80% of MEV revenue will be distributed with mining block rewards, 5% will be used to support ecosystem development through gitcoin funding, and the remaining funds will be used to further expand the MEV strategy. Officials said that it expects miners' mining rewards to increase by 1-10%. At the same time, Bitfly stated that it opposed EIP-1559 for security reasons. These security concerns can be alleviated by EIP-3368. Regardless of the outcome of EIP-1559 and EIP-3368, Bitfly will never support or participate in any hostile actions by miners against the Ethereum network. |
