After being reported by Ebang International under real name, Huatie Emergency held an emergency press conference on the evening of August 9, denying the relevant matters reported by Ebang International. In response, Ebang International issued a statement on the 10th to refute it, and both sides insisted on their own opinions.
On the morning of the 11th, Huatie Emergency received an inquiry letter from the Shanghai Stock Exchange, requiring the company to verify and make additional disclosures on the contract disputes, custody fees, embezzlement and other issues publicly reported by Yibang Technology.
On the 8th and 9th, the share price of Huatie Emergency hit the daily limit for consecutive days, and continued to fall on the 10th, but suddenly rose in the late trading and closed in the red. For a time, investors were talking about it.
What has attracted much attention is that the report materials submitted by Ebang International show that one of the Bitcoin mining pools, miner numbers, Bitcoin income and Bitcoin wallet addresses corresponding to the mining machines purchased by Xinjiang Huatie Heng'an all belong to the mobile phone number of Pan Qian, the wife of Hu Danfeng, chairman of Huatie Emergency. As a result, Hu Danfeng and Pan Qian were accused of massive embezzlement of company assets. The market value of the 4,418 Bitcoins involved was as high as 1.8 billion yuan (current price is about 1.2 billion yuan).
On the 11th, according to the statements of many people in the cryptocurrency circle, the person in charge of the five Bitcoin wallet addresses questioned by Ebang International is most likely Chen Baoqing, not Pan Qian. In addition, there is no evidence that Hu Danfeng and Pan Qian are related to these Bitcoin wallet accounts.
Who owns the 4418 bitcoins?
Yibang International previously reported that one of the Bitcoin mining pools, miner numbers, Bitcoin earnings and Bitcoin wallet addresses corresponding to the mining machines purchased by Xinjiang Huatie belonged to a user with a mobile phone number ending in 9886, who was Hu Danfeng's wife Pan Qian.
The series of materials provided by Yibang International at the media conference also listed the Bitcoin wallet address corresponding to the above mobile phone number.
In this regard, the reporter of Shanghai Securities News consulted with cryptocurrency investors and engineers and found that the above statement was misleading. "Pan Qian's mobile phone number is bound to a Bitcoin mining pool account. This account can see information such as miner number and Bitcoin income, but it does not correspond to a Bitcoin wallet address. Bitcoin mining pool account and Bitcoin wallet address are two different concepts." said a cryptocurrency investor.
However, in Ebang International's statement, it directly linked the mobile phone number with the Bitcoin account. Huatie Emergency said that the processing of Bitcoin belongs to the lessor, and the mining pool platform is used to maintain the equipment account and Bitcoin wallet address of the mining pool and mining machine. There is no necessary correlation between the two accounts.
So, the question is: Who owns the Bitcoin account?
According to the report filed by Ebang International, through technical analysis, these five Bitcoin addresses are different Bitcoin addresses of the same Bitcoin wallet, indicating that these five Bitcoin addresses are controlled by the same person. By querying the above Bitcoin addresses through the Bitcoin blockchain browser, it is known that the number of Bitcoins obtained from mining is 4418.895748. Calculated based on the highest market price of Bitcoin, the above Bitcoins were worth more than 1.8 billion yuan at their highest point.
After Huatie Emergency responded, Ebang International issued a statement saying that the Bitcoin account belonged to Pan Qian. The basis is that from a transfer record at 8:27:26 on October 22, 2019, it was found that the above Bitcoin address had transferred money to other Bitcoin addresses at the same time, which can confirm that these Bitcoin addresses belong to the same Bitcoin wallet. As we all know, the same Bitcoin wallet can only belong to one person. In addition, the above Bitcoin account was used to pay the electricity bills of Huatie Emergency's mining machines.
Therefore, Yibang International insists that these bitcoins are controlled and owned by Pan Qian.
According to the article, in a group chat named "Yibang Electricity Bill Verification" released by Yibang International, a person with the remark "Huatie Wei Tiantian" stated that he could use currency settlement and transfer 42.1496 bitcoins to the Bitcoin address provided by the person with the remark "Yibang-Wang Hongyong@Yibit Mining Machine" to offset the 2 million electricity bill in Butuo, Sichuan.
The source of the 42.1496 bitcoins mentioned above is consistent with the five bitcoin wallet addresses mentioned above. Therefore, it seems that "Huatie Wei Tiantian" has the transaction rights of the account and uses it to pay the electricity bill for Huatie's bitcoin mining.
Huatie Emergency stated that Wei Tiantian was not an employee of the company and had nothing to do with Huatie from the beginning to the end. It also said that Wei Tiantian was a friend of Chen Baoqing of Newbo Industrial.
The actual controller of the wallet address may be someone else. A key figure in the entire transaction process is Chen Baoqing.
According to people close to Huatie Emergency, Chen Baoqing has a business partnership with the company's actual controller Hu Danfeng. Chen Baoqing approached Hu Danfeng in the early years to persuade him to invest in blockchain business. "Hu Danfeng is not a blockchain professional, so he entrusted Chen Baoqing to learn about this market. Chen Baoqing is not an employee of Huatie."
It is worth noting that Yibang International has a logical flaw in proving the relationship between Hu Danfeng, Chen Baoqing, Wei Tiantian and Dong Junna. Its intention is to complete the logical loop of its "setting" by proving that the latter three are actually under the orders of Hu Danfeng.
When Ebang International's materials mentioned that "Hu Danfeng added Chen Baoqing to the WeChat group and introduced him as the on-site person in charge of Huatie's emergency response," Ebang International "intentionally" concealed the name of the group. The screenshots provided by Ebang International show that Hu Danfeng, whose screenshot was marked as "Hu Danfeng-Huatie", added Chen Baoqing to the group and said he was the on-site person in charge.
Later, Yibang International’s materials showed that Chen Baoqing pulled Dong Junna and Wei Tiantian into the group. Screenshots showed that two people named “Xinjiang Huatie Dong Junna” and “named Hard Work x Tian (Awoo?!)” (i.e. Wei Tiantian) were pulled into the “Yibang Electricity Fee Verification” WeChat group by Chen Baoqing. At the same time, the materials provided later all took place in the “Yibang Electricity Fee Verification” WeChat group.
However, according to the reporter, Hu Danfeng was not in the "Yibang Electricity Bill Checking" WeChat group. Hu Danfeng also explained this issue: "The company's employees paying the electricity bill is a personal act. They privately negotiated with Chen Baoqing to help, and it has nothing to do with the company."
According to the materials released by Ebang International, namely the Bitcoin transfer records marked as "Huatie Wei Tiantian", Wei Tiantian does have the authority to operate the above five Bitcoin wallet addresses. However, considering all the circumstances, Chen Baoqing, who has a decision-making position, is likely to be the actual controller of the above five wallet addresses.
People close to Chen Baoqing said that the above-mentioned Bitcoin mining pool account is observed by both parties, and Chen Baoqing logs into the account on a daily basis to manage the mining machine.
According to Huatie Emergency, the company is only engaged in the leasing business of Bitcoin mining machines, and the actual operation is handled by Chen Baoqing. Pan Qian's mobile phone number is only an observer link, used to understand the operating status of the company's leased servers to avoid the risk of server shutdown and misappropriation.
The aforementioned cryptocurrency industry insiders said that this statement is logical and common in the industry. "The general large-scale computing power operation and maintenance model is that a third-party company is fully responsible. Chen Baoqing's identity is equivalent to being the agent operator who is fully responsible. This includes paying electricity bills, equipment maintenance, and trading bitcoins for income, providing one-stop operation services."
However, the whistleblower Yibang International refused to give up and published an article on its official WeChat public account on August 10 to continue raising doubts.
