Luxury Swiss Hotel Accepts Bitcoin and Ethereum Payments

The Chedi Andermatt, a luxury resort in the Swiss Alps, announced on Friday that it will begin allowing guests to pay for their stays with bitcoin and ethereum.
The five-star hotel, owned by Egyptian billionaire Samih Sawiris, said it would consider accepting other cryptocurrencies in the future.
The Chedi Andermatt, which opened in 2013, has 123 rooms and suites with nightly rates starting at CHF1,300 in high season.
The hotel began considering cryptocurrency as a payment option four years ago but waited until it could ensure transactions were secure before announcing it.
To this end, the hotel will work with payment service provider Worldline and Swiss crypto service provider Bitcoin Suisse. To avoid the risk of price fluctuations, any cryptocurrency payments received by the hotel will be immediately converted into Swiss francs.
