Microsoft wins patent in the US for creating crypto token service

Microsoft has been granted a U.S. patent for software that could help users develop blockchain applications, making it easier and more efficient to create cryptographic tokens for different distributed ledgers.
According to the patent, creating and managing tokens is currently “difficult and cumbersome” due to a lack of standardization between different blockchains.
Microsoft’s patent describes a ledger-independent system for helping users create tokens and manage them across different networks.
Upon receiving a user's request, the system provides templates with various properties and control functions. These will depend on the desired token type, for example, representing a digital or physical asset. Once the user selects the desired template, the system creates the token on the specified network.
The system also provides a common interface for managing tokens, so developers don’t have to worry about specific code for interacting with tokens.
