On September 17, payment giant PayPal (UK) announced on Twitter that all eligible customers can now buy, sell and hold cryptocurrencies in the UK through their PayPal accounts. Supported digital assets include BTC, BCH, ETH and LTC. On August 23, PayPal is expanding its crypto services to the UK, allowing customers to buy, hold and sell four cryptocurrencies on its platform. This is the first expansion of PayPal's crypto products outside the United States. The process will begin this week and should be available to all eligible customers in the next few weeks. Customers must have verified their identity to qualify, and PayPal business accounts are not supported. Cash withdrawals are not currently supported. Jose Fernandez da Ponte, vice president of blockchain, crypto and digital currency, said at the 2021 Consensus in May that the withdrawal function is under development. |
