Ukrainian security service busts criminal gang selling Bitcoin-stealing malware

Ukrainian law enforcement authorities have uncovered a criminal gang that specializes in hacking and stealing cryptocurrencies and laundering illicit funds.

The gang provided services to customers on the dark web and was dismantled in a joint operation with the United States.

The Ukrainian security service (SBU) Cybersecurity Department revealed that these Ukrainians are legitimizing illegal funds on behalf of international hackers. Members of the criminal gang are also selling flash drives containing viruses designed to destroy digital wallets and steal cryptocurrencies.
