Microsoft plans to release enterprise Metaverse early next year

On November 3, Microsoft is adjusting its iconic products, including PowerPoint and Excel, to create a more enterprise-oriented Metaverse version.

The first product is a version of the Microsoft Teams chat and conferencing app with digital avatar capabilities, which is currently in testing and will be launched in the first half of 2022. Customers will be able to share Office files and other features, including PowerPoint slides, in the virtual world.

Nadella said Microsoft will focus on the practical aspects of the metaverse, that is, some use cases with obvious benefits. In an interview with Bloomberg, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said: The epidemic has made related business use cases more mainstream, while consumer-level applications are sometimes more like science fiction.

Nadella himself has used the technology to visit a British hospital, a Toyota factory and even the International Space Station. Microsoft also on Tuesday launched a product called Dynamics 365 Connected Spaces that helps people move and interact in virtual retail and factory spaces.
