Stealing electricity for "mining", two "miners" dug a hole for themselves!

Two "miners" were arrested for stealing electricity from oil fields to power virtual currency "mining machines" and making huge black profits.

Recently, the Yongping Branch cracked a case of theft of oil field electricity and destroyed a virtual currency "mining" den.

On April 14, Zaolin Police Station of Yongping Branch received a report from the public that someone was illegally stealing electricity from the oil field in the area of ​​an oil production station in Tangjiachuan Oil Production Team of Zichang Oilfield.

After receiving the report, the branch attached great importance to it and immediately organized the police officers of Zaolin Police Station to conduct investigation and evidence collection. After arriving at the scene, they found several virtual currency "mining" equipment in a private house. After investigation, it was found that the suspects used the electricity produced by nearby oil wells to be connected to the private house by underground burial for the purpose of virtual currency "mining". Two suspects were arrested on the spot, and 21 "mining machines" equipment, cables and other equipment parts were seized. The case involved a value of more than 40,000 yuan. After preliminary interrogation, the criminal suspects Xu and Ding confessed to stealing oil field production electricity for "mining".

At present, the suspect has been criminally detained and the case is under further investigation.

Article 71: Anyone who steals electricity shall be ordered by the power management department to stop the illegal behavior, recover the electricity charges and impose a fine of no more than five times the electricity charges payable; if the act constitutes a crime, criminal liability shall be pursued in accordance with the provisions of Article 264 of the Criminal Law.


Article 72: Anyone who steals power facilities or damages power facilities by other means, endangering public safety, shall be investigated for criminal responsibility in accordance with the relevant provisions of the Criminal Law. If the act constitutes a crime, he shall be investigated for criminal responsibility in accordance with the provisions of Articles 118 and 119 of the Criminal Law.
