A quick overview of 24 high-quality projects at the Ethereum Shanghai Hackathon

From May 20th to June 3rd, the first ETH Shanghai Hackathon was held as a parallel event of the Ethereum Shanghai Summit (https://ethshanghai.org/) (ETH Shanghai Summit). With the theme of "Next Generation Social", it was held entirely online, inviting Web3 enthusiasts and developers from all over the world to pay attention to the close connection between the Internet and social responsibility, ignite imagination on topics such as public chains, on-chain data analysis, and decentralized social networking, and jointly define the future of Web3 social networking.

The competition raised a total of more than $140,000 in prize money and brought together the most cutting-edge Web3 protocol developers to provide rich resources and SDE tools for the hackathon. Through the hackathon competition, the organizers hope to jointly build a more open social space and create a co-managed and shared decentralized governance structure.

During the hackathon, more than 900 entries were received and more than 200 projects were submitted. After evaluation and scoring, 24 outstanding projects that used development tools provided by sponsors stood out, covering a variety of Web3 application scenarios, such as: marriage and love, blockchain games, email, social networking, etc.

1. Metamail (Gold Award)

MetaMail provides Web3 email services that are compatible with regular emails. You can send and receive emails with any other mailbox (such as Gmail and QQ mailbox) freely and for free.

MetaMail users can use wallet addresses/ENS as email addresses and enhance email security through digital signatures and end-to-end encryption.

Visit metamail.ink, connect your wallet, and you will get your own email address with the suffix @mmail.ink. The whole process only requires a signature to verify the ownership of the account, which is completely free and has no gas fees. Users will not disclose private keys or other information.

In MetaMail, editing, sending and receiving mails are almost the same as other mail services. Before sending, users need to sign the content of the email to ensure its integrity. The signature will be stored in the header of the email EML. Email service providers and recipients can verify the signature at any time.

2. ETHChat

ETHChat provides a filter service in XMTP and CyberConnect, through which users can filter out private messages from people they follow. The user interface will consist of three parts: following, being followed, and mutual following, and follow requests can be sent through ETHChat.

3. Web3NFT.social

Web3NFT.social is an open platform for Web3 NFT for novice Web3 users.

There are currently two main features:

• Users can follow/unfollow the Linktree homepage of each wallet address and chat with the wallet address

• The chat system has full-featured filtering logic, supporting on-chain data of Cyber ​​Connect data and wallet addresses

Subsequently, NFT SaaS services will be launched on the Web3NFT.Social platform, such as providing automated NFT generation services. On the homepage, you can set up on-chain permission verification based on LIT (https://litprotocol.com/) to implement various services on the platform, so as to serve more Web2 users to use Web3.

In its published roadmap, the platform will also add $NTB tokens for users to purchase and use as platform coins (each activity requires payment in $NTB). At the same time, more functions will be added to make W3NS more like an open platform for developers, where people do not need to reinvent basic equipment and only need to focus on building application functions.

4. Superfluid Ceramic Addressbook

Superfluid is a smart contract framework on the EVM network that enables users to transfer assets on-chain according to predefined rules called protocols. Through a single on-chain transaction, funds will flow from the payer's wallet to the payee in real time.

6. TogethDAO (Best Permission Control Project)

8. VokaAI (Bronze Award)

12. Fraction Interface

Fraction allows users to earn yield on specific assets, with the ability to wrap assets (usually stablecoins) into ERC-1155 and earn yield in the form of a custom token in Superflow. Fraction also offers the ability to mint soul-bound NFTs, binding users to their assets and earning them more interest in the feed.

13. DAOU (Bronze Award)

DAOU uses Soulbound Token and Social Oracle to convert your activity data in the DAO: Discord activities and participation, forum Q&A, Github code contributions, DAO roles and connections into on-chain verifiable data. Social Oracle means to incentivize members in the same DAO to sign and verify the data generated by DAO members, making the data more credible, and scoring each member based on the data. This score is the member Credit in the DAO. The data verified by the Social Oracle will be published to the Soulbound Token through the DAO, and can then be used externally. Arche is building a community-driven Web3 gaming ecosystem to empower and unite gamers, guilds, and creators. Once a user connects all of their wallet addresses, Arche will read and analyze the on-chain data about web3 games for the attached wallet addresses, and then generate a gamefi DID information card for the user. Arche will provide a variety of NFT medals based on the data Arche obtains from the user's wallet address, and users can collect eligible NFT medals and display them in a customizable DID card.

Based on the transaction data of the user's wallet address, Arche can calculate the ROI rate of each web3 game played by the user.
