ENS Business: How did domain name Degens get rich?

In recent months, ENS domain names have continued to heat up. Waves of domain name popularity, such as company name domain names, digital domain names, first or last names, and Emoji, have made ENS top the NFT series 24-hour transaction volume list. In the past month, its transaction volume was second only to BAYC, ranking second, reaching over 13,000 ETH.

Foresight News lists and analyzes the profit methods of the top 8 addresses that have realized profits in ENS domain names (wash transactions have been filtered out) based on Nansen data and ENS.Vision, as well as the categories of domain names held and other NFT series. The analysis found that some addresses can achieve huge profits with just one or two domain names; some addresses have registered digital domain names early and recently made profits at prices far higher than hundreds of times the registration price; a few addresses have realized profits by flipping prices in the secondary market; and some addresses have registered potential domain names by monitoring expired domain names.

Realized Profit Ranking No. 1: 650 ETH profit from three-digit domain names

According to Nansen data statistics, calculated in ETH terms, 812.eth (Twitter account: @GammaPure) is the address that has realized the most profit, reaching 646 ETH, with a profit margin of more than 6000%.

The 812.eth address has registered nearly 60 domain names since November last year, most of which are three-digit domain names and three-letter domain names. It mainly makes profits by selling three-digit domain names. Since five months ago, a total of 37 three-digit domain names have been sold. The prices of the nine three-digit domain names sold in the past three weeks are all between 30 ETH and 43 ETH.

As of the time of writing, @GammaPure holds 21 domain names, of which 8 are three-digit domain names and 12 are three-letter domain names. The current floor price for three-digit domain names is 37 ETH.

No.2: Only one domain name, 000.eth, ranked second

The second largest owner of the realized profit list is kimjonghyung.eth. Judging from the domain name, it should be Korean. kimjonghyung.eth jumped to the second place through only one domain name, 000.eth. The transaction price of 000.eth reached 300 ETH, and the realized profit was 297 ETH, with a profit margin of more than 100 times. The address currently only holds one domain name, kimjonghyung.eth.

No3: Achieve 36 times profit margin through three-digit domain names

Similar to the first place, the 815.eth address also registered more than 20 three-digit domain names 10 months ago, and almost sold them all from April to July, earning about 198 ETH, with a profit margin of more than 40 times. Currently, there is only one three-digit domain name at this address, 815.eth.

No.4: Earn 110 ETH from sumsung.eth and starbucks.eth alone

bbn.eth's profit model is completely different from the previous three. It earns 110 ETH from the two domain names sumsung.eth and starbucks.eth, and the rest is earned by selling letter combinations, words, and several five- and six-digit domain names.

bbn.eth spent a total of 55 ETH on ENS, with revenue and profit of 194 ETH and 138 ETH respectively, with a relatively low profit margin of about 331%. bbn.eth currently holds 1,304 domain names, mainly obtained through registration, and some purchased through the secondary market. Currently, 12% of the number of purchased and registered domain names has been sold. The alphabetic domain names purchased or registered by bbn.eth are also worth learning from.

No.5: 125 ETH profit through three-digit and four-digit domain names

418.eth spent a total of 21 ETH on ENS and earned 146 ETH. It also mainly made profits through three-digit and four-digit domain names. Currently, it only has two digital domain names left: 418.eth and 948.eth.

Compared with the previous major ENS domain name holders, 418.eth also holds more types of NFTs, including mfers, Dooplicator, Meebits, Azuki, Doodles, and MAYC, with a total income of 314 ETH and a total expenditure of 450 ETH on NFTs.

No.6: Earn 112 ETH from ensmaxisnft.eth alone

The sixth address in the realized profit list only achieved the sixth position through ensmaxisnft.eth, which was traded for 111.69 ETH in July.

No.7: Earn 100 ETH with ❤‍?.eth

113.eth has realized a total profit of 94 ETH on ENS, mainly due to the transaction price of 100 ETH for the Emoji domain name ❤‍?.eth. 113.eth currently holds 79 domain names, mainly word and letter combination domain names, and several Emoji domain names. The 113.eth it holds was purchased at a price of 0.11111 ETH 9 months ago.

113.eth is also an NFT Degen, and has conducted trading activities in NFT series such as CloneX, CryptoToadz, Archetype｜Art Blocks Curated, Loot, Murakami.Flowers Seed, Murakami.Flowers Official, CryptoPunks, CyberKongz VX, Doodles, etc. The total income in the NFT field is currently 2530 ETH and the total expenditure is 2570 ETH.

No8: The largest sale was 003.eth, with a transaction price of 83.5 ETH

158.eth received 148 ETH in ENS, with the largest sale being 003.eth (sold at 83.5 ETH), but also spent a lot (56 ETH), buying domain names such as fantom.eth, tnt.eth, hobby.eth, remain.eth, wish.eth, 5555.eth in the secondary market, and registering the sand.eth domain name at a premium of 6.42 ETH. 158.eth has currently sold 2.35% of the number of purchased and registered domain names.
